Without getting into specifics, I went to Disney for a creative rollout meeting. It was only me and the junior designer that went for our company, my art director couldn’t make it. Look at me doing grown up stuff!
To Windows 7.
So I didn’t the unthinkable. I installed windows 7 on my Macbook Pro. Why? For shits and giggles. Such a mistake, Windows OS will never be a contender to Mac OS X. Never. It’s like getting a burger at McDonalds, it’s never going to be as good as In-N-Out. Or buying a Kia and slapping on all these parts to it, it’s never going to give you the driving experience of a BMW, the ultimate driving machine. You can put a lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. Kill it, cut it up, make some bacon and call it a day.
Mac OS X forever.
I am a shoe-a-holic, a sneaker freak, a sneaker head…whatever you wanna call it. I’m crazy about shoes. I have always been like this for as long as I can remember, my first pair of Jordan’s were the Jordan 5′s that I got when I was in the third grade or something. I just scored some pretty nice shoes from Nordstrom’s half-yearly sale today!
How awesome is this? I was part of the initial Kickstarter project when they first pitched the idea of the TikTok and LunaTik. They just released the Lynk which is pictured here and I just love this thing. Metal contruction, black metal band and a black faced nano. It’s just super clean. Can’t wait to see what else they come up with next.
UPDATE: I lost this! I’m so sad =(
UPDATE #2: I went to Nordstroms to see if they had it in their lost and found, they didn’t have it. I went home and found that the shoes they sold me had mismatching sizes. So I had to drive back. When I got in my car, it was right there!
Not my portfolio, I’ve been out of school for a while but from time to time I get to go back to my old university to mentor/review/guide fellow graphic design students. Today was one of those days.
Today I got to go back and do a portfolio midterm review for a portfolio class of a fellow friend/mentor of mine. The class had about 15 students and all with high potential. Some were ahead of others but didn’t mean they couldn’t be at that level. I went through every single student’s portfolio one by one giving individual and group tips and feedback. They were asking me questions throughout the day and I was more than happy to answer.
I had so much fun doing so and I thankful for my creative director for letting me have the day off for doing such things. He actually encourages it. It amazes me the kind of work our youth is able to produce these days and for me to come out and help these kids refine their work for a better outcome was a reward in itself.
They really appreciated all the feedback I was able to give them. You could just see it in their eyes, both the passion and frustration they have for design. Which reminds me of myself when I was in their position which is why I love doing this. I know with today’s feedback that I gave them, the end result will be that much better.
Who knows? I could see myself teaching because I could get use to this view.
